  • Dubai Land Department Registers 127 New Owners’ Committees to Strengthen Property Management

The Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) at Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced the registration of 127 new owners’ committees across Dubai. This initiative aims to improve governance and sustainability in the management of jointly owned properties, allowing property owners to play an active role in managing their communities.

RERA has received a significant number of applications for owners’ committees, with approvals granted based on specific criteria. The strong demand reflects growing interest among property owners to get involved in their communities, following RERA’s call for all owners of jointly owned properties to register.

These owners’ committees are crucial in improving quality of life, enhancing community well-being, and increasing resident satisfaction. While registration remains open to all eligible applicants—both individuals and companies—each committee is limited to nine members. Early application is recommended to ensure participation in decision-making.

The committees are vital for promoting transparency and ensuring real estate sustainability. Property management companies will meet with newly formed committees to elect a chairperson, vice-chairperson, and assign tasks. These committees are responsible for reviewing budgets, setting maintenance priorities, and overseeing shared services, which help in managing jointly owned properties efficiently.

RERA will oversee the workflow, coordinating between management companies and the owners’ committees, and ensuring operations are effective. RERA also continues to maintain direct communication with property owners, encouraging them to join the committees. Individual property owners can apply directly, while property owners from companies must submit applications through their management companies for approval.

The formation of owners’ committees aligns with Dubai’s goal of achieving the highest standards in real estate management and regulation. These committees encourage community collaboration, protect real estate investments, and enhance sustainability. RERA is dedicated to ensuring that these committees help improve the quality of life for residents across the emirate.

Eligible individual property owners can register for owners’ committees through the DLD’s official website or the Dubai REST app, provided they meet the necessary conditions. These include living in the property, holding a valid Emirates ID, providing a Good Conduct Certificate from Dubai Police, and settling all outstanding service fees.

RERA’s initiative reflects Dubai Land Department’s commitment to creating a transparent and effective regulatory environment, promoting owners’ participation in property management. This effort contributes to sustainability and supports Dubai’s vision of a thriving real estate sector.
