Bahrain Builds 3,000 Residential Units At Madinat Khalifa

In a significant step towards urban development, Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has announced a big plan to build 3,000 homes and apartments in Madinat Khalifa. The project will also include important infrastructure like roads and utilities and will cover an area of 1.6 million square meters. According to the Bahrain News Agency, it will be done in partnership with private real estate developers.

This project is part of the Government Land Development Rights Programme, which brings the public and private sectors together to work on housing and infrastructure projects. The announcement was made on November 4, during the last day of the Gateway Gulf Forum in Manama.

The ministry explained that Madinat Khalifa is an important location for developers to build homes and provide the necessary infrastructure. Before moving forward, the project went through a detailed technical and financial review. It will soon enter the tendering phase and be listed on the Government Land Investment Platform, where developers can bid for the project.

The Madinat Khalifa initiative is part of a larger series of projects spread across Bahrain’s governorates, with progress advancing in tendering and contracting. The ministry noted significant interest from real estate developers eager to engage in the Government Land Development Rights Programme.
